Currently Seeking: Cleantech Entrepreneurs for Portugal’s HQA Visa Program

Portugal’s HQA Visa is often described as a hybrid program that combines the outdated means-based Golden Visa with a Startup Visa. The HQA program essentially gives qualified entrepreneurs the ability to establish their own company in Portugal while making an investment in an R&D project in collaboration with a government supported research facility (a Portuguese university).

In late August the University of Algarve announced a new tech center that is dedicated to the growth of renewable energy projects.  The objective of this technological hub is to develop research, research, and implement energy solutions.

Around €7.2 million is being invested in the plan, with around 55% (€4 million) being covered by community funding via the CRESC Algarve 2020 programme.

The goal is to have five medium-high and high-technology companies based at the hub by 2024.

If you are a cleantech entrepreneur or an accomplished business person with a cleantech idea you’d like to explore/invest in, Portugal’s HQA Visa Program could be an excellent fit for your global mobility – with the added perk of additional supports through this new initiative.
