Web Summit 2025: Taking the Stage in Lisbon  

Web Summit is considered one of the largest tech conferences in the world. Hosted yearly in Lisbon, the conference brings together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the technology ecosystem. The conference will be held from November 10 to 13, 2025, at the MEO Arena and Lisbon Exhibition & Congress Center, attracting over 70,000 attendees.   

This year, Empowered Startups is showing up in a big way! We’ll be taking the stage for a panel discussion titled “Empowering Innovation: Building the Next Generation of Global Entrepreneurs“, as well as a roundtable discussion at the Ecosystem Summit titled “Foreign Direct Investment and Talent Attraction for Innovation”.  

Web Summit Panel Discussion

On November 12, 2025, Empowered Startups’ President & General Counsel, Chris Lennon, will be taking the stage for the panel discussion “Empowering Innovation: building the next generation of global entrepreneurs”. Joined by Mohamed El Dallal, Chairman of IEEE Entrepreneurship, and moderated by Gustavo Brigatto, Founder of Startups.com.br, the panel discussion brings together two leaders from the world’s top innovation organizations. Mohamed and Chris will share their perspectives on what it really means to empower entrepreneurs through mentorship, ecosystem design, and startup education. It’s a discussion you won’t want to miss!  

Ecosystem Summit Roundtable

The Ecosystem Summit is an invite-only gathering for 150 global innovation and policy leaders, designed to spark collaboration and share strategies for building thriving tech ecosystems. The Summit takes place outside of the Web Summit main event on November 10, 2025.  

During the summit, there will be roundtable breakout sessions focused on masterclasses and peer-to-peer conversations. Participants explore how to attract investment, support startups, and drive regional innovation.  

Paul Girodo, Co-Founder of Empowered Startups, and Chris Lennon, President & General Counsel, will be hosting one of these roundtable discussions on “Foreign Direct Investment and Talent Attraction for Innovation.” We hope to attract policymakers, business leaders, and academic experts to explore how foreign capital and skilled human capital can drive innovation and economic growth.
