Skills to build entrepreneurial resilience

In the spirit of Mental Health Awareness Month, Empowered Startups hosted a powerful workshop in collaboration with MindFrame Connect called “Skills to Build Entrepreneurial Resilience”, specifically designed to support entrepreneurs.

Starting a business is a demanding journey, and the mental health of entrepreneurs is a growing concern. 87.7% of entrepreneurs struggle with at least one mental health issue. The pressure to succeed, financial worries, and long hours can take a toll on their well-being. This challenge is even more pronounced for entrepreneurs building lives in a new country while getting their businesses off the ground.

In recognition, Empowered Startups hosted the workshop to equip these inspiring individuals with the tools they need to bounce back from setbacks and keep pushing forward.

The May 21st workshop equipped entrepreneurs with crucial tools for resilience. Brice Scheschuk, , Managing Partner at Globalive Capital, Co-Founder of both WIND Mobile and MindFrame Connect, and mental health advocate, led the session on psychological resilience, high performance frameworks, and stress management. Scheschuk offered deep insights and practical examples derived from his mentoring background and extensive experience as a seasoned business leader.

“We understand the unique challenges our entrepreneurs face,” shared Zoya Brar, a mentor at Empowered Startups. “This workshop was about equipping them with practical skills and fostering a mindset that can weather any storm.”

Scheschuk echoed this sentiment: “Resilience is the bedrock of entrepreneurial success. We wanted to help these individuals see that challenges are stepping stones, not roadblocks.”

In reflecting on mental health and entrepreneurial resilience, Amarjeet Kaur of Yali Cyber Security, a company in incubation at Empowered Startups shared, “The challenge of starting a business sometimes feels overwhelming. Maintaining mental health as an entrepreneur in a new business environment isn’t just about bouncing back but also adapting. It was reassuring to come away with a few practical tools for mental health and entrepreneurial success.

Overall, the workshop effectively equipped entrepreneurs with essential resilience tools. Empowered Startups remains dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of the entrepreneurial community, ensuring they have the resources to thrive.
