Mentor Maven Launches Female Entrepreneur Mentorship Platform
Mentor Maven, a Vancouver based platform for female entrepreneurs in the fashion and apparel industry, has launched its online mentorship program.
Breaking Down Barriers in Female Peer Networking
In a fiercely competitive industry like fashion and apparel, women are often pitted against one another to succeed. With the growing number of independently run retail and e-commerce fashion brands, the barriers to entry are low, but it can be challenging to be successful without the right support. Driven by a passion for fashion and seeing other women succeed, Mentor Maven provides meaningful mentorship for women by women. Its mission is to create a safe and welcoming online space for women to network, share industry insights, career advice, and more.
The Mentorship Experience
The mentors have been hand selected by founder Dimples (Therese) La O: an experienced retail business owner in the Philippines. Dimples started her career in fashion manufacturing at age 19 and has launched and scaled her own successful swimwear brand. Throughout her career, she always wished for a community and network of likeminded, hardworking entrepreneurial woman who were driven to succeed. Through the Empowered Startups Incubation Program, Dimples founded Mentor Maven to create a space where she and other leaders in the fashion space, can help other women succeed. The Mentor Maven Mentors are selected based on their career achievements, desire to give back, and deep industry knowledge within the fashion and retail industry. It has mentors experienced in design, operations, marketing, and manufacturing. Through its app, Mentor Maven facilitates group chats, one on one mentorship sessions, discussion panels, events, and more.
